Artist's Statement 2008
The entire process of creating a photograph is very exciting to me.
I must choose a subject and then go to work.
Occasionally, the subject chooses me.
Around every corner there is an opportunity for me to create.
My subjects vary from A to Z.
When I’m handed lemons, then I make lemonade.
I have never been focused on a single style of work in my photography or for other art media.
There are many surprises and mysteries to be found.
Please don't place me in a "box" or pigeon hole.
I treat anything and everything as a possible subject.
Many artists feel and create work that must say that's who I am by creating this landscape presentation or portrait.
My desire is to capture the attention of the viewer of my art.
A return visit to view again is what I strive for in my presentation.
Questions should be asked. Why ? What ? Texture ?
I will not create lazy art forms.
Raising my viewers interest level and curiosity to an ‘11’ is my ambition.
Mystery will exist if I am successful with my creations.
The viewer never sees an image as I do.
Many interpretations exist for the same image.
My viewers should decide about my work and not need an explanation.
Sometimes the viewer is reminded of a place or past event or feeling during this experience.
Peace....
